Description

This rack fixes under a cabinet or straight onto a wall and holds twelve wine glasses upside down by the foot, so the bowls hang clear of each other and the rail. Slots suit standard wine glass stems — most red, white and stemmed cocktail glasses fit. Very wide bowls, like large Burgundy glasses, sit closer together, so check bowl diameter if your glasses are unusually large. Fix it with a drill and the right wall plugs for your wall type; stud walls and plasterboard need proper fixings, not just the screws provided.

Storing glasses this way keeps dust off the bowls between uses — useful for glasses that sit for weeks, like spare coupes or a rarely used cordial glass. It also frees up shelf space, since the rack typically mounts under a cabinet or along an otherwise wasted stretch of wall. It needs clearance below for the glasses to hang without hitting a worktop, and it suits a matching set of stemware better than a mixed collection of odd shapes and sizes.

Questions about this product

Will all my wine glasses fit?

Most standard-stemmed wine glasses fit, including regular red, white and cocktail coupe shapes, because the slots are sized for typical stem widths. Very wide-bowled glasses, like large Burgundy or balloon glasses, sit closer together than narrower shapes, so you fit fewer of them per rack. Stemless glasses and tumblers won't work at all, since there's no stem for the slot to grip u2014 this rack is for stemware only. If your collection is mostly stemless or you drink from tumblers, a shelf or cupboard will serve you better than a hanging rack.

How much wall space and clearance do I need?

Allow roughly the width of the rack itself, plus the depth of a wine glass bowl below it u2014 around 12-15cm of drop is typical for standard glasses, more for larger bowls. Mount it high enough that the longest glass in your set clears any worktop, shelf or cupboard underneath. If you're fixing to plasterboard rather than a solid wall or cabinet base, use plasterboard fixings rated for the weight of a full rack of glass, not just the screws in the box.
