This set gives you six pieces that actually get used: a cobbler-style shaker (body, strainer top and cap counted as one), a 25ml/50ml jigger, a separate hawthorne strainer for when you're building drinks in a mixing glass, a twisted bar spoon, a muddler, and a pourer for your everyday spirit bottle. Everything is stainless steel and dishwasher safe, though hand washing keeps the shine longer.

It suits anyone making their first proper attempt at cocktails at home — a new flat, a first proper drinks cabinet, or a present for someone who's shown an interest but doesn't own the gear yet. It won't suit someone who already knows they want double-ended jiggers with four or five measures, or a full setup with a mixing glass and multiple strainers — for that, look at the eight-piece set with stand. Is the shaker on this set one piece or three?

The box says six pieces and the shaker itself has three parts u2014 the tin, the strainer top and the cap u2014 but it's counted as a single piece because it works as one unit. The other five pieces (jigger, separate strainer, spoon, muddler, pourer) are all standalone. So this set genuinely gives you six pieces of kit, not padded out with extras like coasters or cocktail picks the way some boxed sets are.

Does this come with a recipe book or glasses?

No. This is equipment only u2014 no glasses, no recipe cards, no ice mould. If you want recipe cards included, our cocktail set with recipe cards covers that.
