Description

This is a small round stainless steel drainer tray, six inches across, designed to sit under a single bottle, spirit optic, coffee jug or teapot rather than a whole line of bottles. The perforated top lets drips run through into the tray body, and the compact footprint means it fits on a narrow shelf, a coffee station or a small home bar counter where a full-size rectangular tray wouldn't fit.

It's a good match for one specific job rather than general bar drainage — under the gin you pour most, by the coffee machine, or under a single decanter. For a working drainer that copes with several bottles or a run of glasses, the stainless steel or deluxe drainer trays are the better fit; this one is deliberately small and single-purpose. It empties and rinses easily given its size, which suits quick turnarounds during service.

Questions about this product

What's this size actually meant for?

It's sized for a single item rather than a row of bottles u2014 one spirit optic, one coffee jug, a teapot, or a decanter you use regularly. At 6 inches across it takes up very little counter space, which is why it turns up on coffee stations and tight bar tops as much as in cocktail bars. If you need to drain several bottles or glasses at once, a rectangular tray will serve you better.

Is it big enough for a full bottle of spirits to sit on?

Yes, a standard 70cl or 1 litre spirit bottle sits comfortably within a 6 inch round tray, provided the base of the bottle isn't unusually wide. It's really intended to catch the drip from an optic or pourer rather than support a bottle laid on its side, so keep bottles upright on it. For very wide-based bottles, check the base measurement against the 15cm diameter before ordering.
