Description
Disposable pint glasses are used anywhere reusable glass is impractical or against venue rules — outdoor festivals, marquees, sports grounds and events where broken glass would be a genuine hazard underfoot. "To line" glasses carry a fill line marked on the glass below the rim; filling to that line gives a full imperial pint (568ml) with headspace left above for a head on beer or lager. "To brim" glasses have no fill line, and instead are sized so that a full pint is reached only when liquid is level with the rim — this style suits drinks poured with little or no head, or venues measuring the pour by a separate metered dispense rather than by eye against a line.
If you're selling beer or lager by the pint to the public, the glass needs to be a legally recognised measure, which for stamped glassware means it carries the appropriate certification mark confirming the fill line or brim gives a genuine full pint. Check current requirements for your type of premises and event before ordering in bulk, since rules differ between licensed on-trade sale and private or hospitality use where no legal pint measure applies. These are single-use and not designed to be washed and reused.
